The Severn Vale Discovery Cruise is new for 2023 and is designed for those that want to discover more of the surrounding area near the River Severn and Gloucester to Sharpness Ship Canal. We're continuing to visit some of our favourite excursions but have added in some new ones, too.

This cruise is packed full of glorious views, history and wildlife.
Whether you are taking in the sunsets in Worcester or Purton, watching the Kingfishers hunt or taking in the panoramic views of the Malvern Hills, this cruise is a feast for the eyes and the senses.
Whilst you absorb everything this fantastically traditional English region has to offer, we have the best seats on the river! Our top viewing deck is 15 feet off the water, but if you'd rather sit inside there are plenty of large windows and comfy seats in the saloon to help you relax and watch the views drift by.

Day One
Gloucester to Upper Lode
- 11.30am Check-in and park at our purpose-built canalside location "The Boathouse" near Gloucester.
- 12.30pm Welcome lunch and drinks.
- 13.15pm Board the Edward Elgar and sail for Upper Lode
- 6.00 pm Arrive at Upper Lode and moor overnight at this quiet and picturesque mooring.

Day Two
Upper Lode to Worcester
- 8am Set Sail for Worcester
- 12.00pm Arrive in Worcester
- 2pm Guided Tour of Worcester Cathedral
- 3.30pm Visit Royal Worcester Porcelain Musuem

Day Three
Diglis Fish Pass, Upton Upon Severn and Morgan Motors
- 8.30 am Set sail for Diglis
- 9.30 am Discover the Canal and River Trust lock gate workshops at Diglis Island, and then go down into the Diglis fish pass viewing area to see migrating fish through the glass viewing gallery!
- 11.30 am Sail to Upton upon Severn
- 2 pm Guided Tour of the Morgan Motors Factory.
- 4.30pm Return to Upton

Day Four
Gloucester Docks
- 8am Set sail for Gloucester
- 12.00pm Arrive in Gloucester's Historic Docks
- 1.30pm Walking Tour of Gloucester Docks, ending at Gloucester Cathedral. Visit the Cathedral.
- 5pm Gin Tasting at Fox's Kiln Distillery.

Day Five
Slimbridge WWT and Purton Hulks Barge Graveyard
- 9.00am Set sail for Slimbridge
- 12.00pm Moor near Slimbridge
- 1.15pm Transport to Slimbridge WWT.
- 4.30pm Sail to Purton Hulks Barge Graveyard
- 5.15pm Visit the Purton Hulks

Day Six
Tewkesbury
- 7.30am Set sail for The Boathouse, Gloucester
- 11.30am Arrive at the Boathouse.
- 12.00pm Coach to Tewkesbury. Buy lunch and then enjoy a guided tour.
- 5.00pm Return to the Boat
- 6.30 pm Final night dinner in The Boathouse paired with local English wine.

Departure Day
- 8.30-9.30am Breakfast served in the Boathouse.
- 10.00am Checkout.
